MEDUSA System for the German Navy

OPTIMARE was selected for a contract to provide the latest version of its well-known Maritime Surveillance System MEDUSA for the German Navy. The mission equipment will be installed into a brand new Do 228NG which will substitute one of the two German maritime surveillance aircraft of type Do 228. The ordered MEDUSA suite integrates systems of type SLAR, IR/UV Line Scanner, VIS Line Scanner, still camera, EO/IR, AIS, and SATCOM. The mission system software comprises OPTIMARE's well-known Analysis Software Suite, the real-time visualization and an Electronic Chart System based on approved navigational charts.

The project consortium consists of RUAG Aerospace Services GmbH (prime contractor), Motorflug GmbH and OPTIMARE Sensorsysteme GmbH & Co. KG.
