OPTIMARE has a long-standing experience of airborne measurements during polar research expeditions of various scientific disciplines.

The operation of scientific equipment during airborne experiments in polar regions is the core business of the Polar Service Division. Our services include the operation of sensors during field experiments as well as the calibration and preparation of equipment in the laboratory prior to the measurements. We can also arrange transportation and logistics to remote locations.

Our data acquisition systems are based on the MEDUSA architecture developed by OPTIMARE. It can satisfy the overall diversity of our customers demands. Systems of the MEDUSA familiy are operated on daily routine missions over North and Baltic Seas and also during field experiments in Arctic and Antarctic regions.

Our service does not only include the integration and support for data acquisition systems, but also the documentation of system installations required for obtaining an approval for airborne applications.

During the past years, OPTIMARE was involved in certification on different types of aircraft like Dornier-228, Basler BT67, Gulfstream G550, CASA C-295 and CN-235.
